holiday Greece July
The month of July it is high summer in Greece and on the Greek islands. July and August are the busiest and also the hottest summer months to visit Greece. Nature in the northern Greek islands (eg Corfu, Lefkada) and the northern mainland (eg Epirus, Macedonia) are green even in the high season. The temperature is usually above 30 degrees, but in the afternoon there is usually a cooling breeze from the sea.
Our house is fully equipped to provide the necessary cooling and confort, even in the summer. There are shutters everywhere to keep the sun out as much as possible, there are covered terraces, there is a BBQ and lounge area on the north side of the house. All rooms in the house are equipped with a central climate control system. And of course you can always take a refreshing dip in the pool or in the sea, where we have our own platform.

About Lefkada
The high temperatures do not invite for long trips or strenuous sports activities other than water sports. The days are long and during the evenings you can relax outside.
For the Lefkada round we now stay on the south-east side of the island of Lefkada and place some more emphasis on the restaurants and terraces. First of all, a visit to the marina of Sivota is always a pleasure. All terraces are now busy and the marina is also full of sailors and flotilla. Sivota has the best seafood restaurants in Lefkada. The atmosphere is often exceptionally cozy and exuberant. Left (north side) of the bay Ionian tavern of Yannis and Nicos with the tastiest charcoal grilled fish. To the right is Spiridoula and 50 m further, “12 Gods” and a little further the Family cafe of Yanna. At the end of this side is the bar Liotrovit, fantastic to end your evening here.
Lefkada in the month July
On the way from Sivota to Nidry you pass the wine museum of Lefkaditiki and Lefkas Land on your left. These are the better local produced wines of the island. After a few km take the exit to Poros or Mikros Gialos, a beautiful bay with a beautiful beach and various taverns. To the left is “San Nicolas”, a beach club with beautiful terraces, swimming pool, excellent food with good value for money.
Further towards Nidry you drive along the Vlicho harbor or you can also take the exit for Geni to the Seaside Restaurant directly located at the water. They offer a limited choice of traditional Greek dishes with all fresh products and owners and personnel are happy to provide you with a fantastic evening.
Nidry is most focused on tourism. Due to the many Western European visitors, the style and taste have also been adjusted somewhat and the prices are somewhat higher than in authentic Greek villages.
When we are in Nidri, we usually visit “café de Paris” (with black umbrellas) opposite the moorage of the ferries or further south (just outside the regular promenade) is a restaurant with the typical Greek name “Mama Mia”. An extensive menu and the kitchen is in our opinion one of the best Greek cuisine on the promenade.
In Nidri you will undoubtedly see the pirate boat “Odyssia” on the quay. The owner offers you a nice day trip to various islands, quiet beaches with a BBQ etc. It is certainly worth a day of your holiday and if you are with more persons you can somewhat negotiate the price for the trip.
Since 2014, a ring road has been located on the west side of Nidri (regional road). Halfway this ringroad there are signs that refer to the Waterfalls, which lavishly pour water in the preseason but have lost strength in the high season.
