Beaches Lefkada

Lefkas is best known as the island with crystal clear water and white beaches. Especially on the west coast, the island is surrounded by vast white pebble beaches. On the east coast, the island is surrounded by islands with picturesque bays, including the famous island of Skorpios, the island of Onasis and Maroudi, the island of the poet Aristotle Valaorititis.

The choice of beaches on Lefkada is impressive and each beach has its own unique appeal. The most famous beaches on the island are Porto Katsiki and Egremni Beach. These beaches have been on the list of the most beautiful beaches in Europe for years, but there are so many more beautiful beaches on Lefkada. To make your stay at Villa Lefkas as pleasant as possible, we have listed the most beautiful beaches of Lefkas below.

PORTO KATSIKI:

One of the most beautiful, colorful and picturesque beaches of the Greek islands. Due to the breathtaking beauty of this beach, it is very busy during the high season, so it is better to go early in the morning or in the late afternoon. Beds and umbrellas are available for rent. 

EGREMNI BEACH:

Egremni beach is close to Porto Katsiki and has white sand and pebbles, transparent water and a dramatic cliff environment. The beach is accessible by a staircase of around 300 steps. Egremni Beach was inaccessible to tourists for a while, but fortunately is now open to tourists again.

KATHISMA BEACH:

Due to its easy accessibility and sandy beach, Kathisma Beach is a popular destination with many beach bars, tavernas and hotels. Even though it is one of the largest beaches on the island , it can sometimes be very busy. Parasailers fly over the mountains along the westcoast to land on this beautiful beach.

AGIOFILI BEACH:

This beach, which is located about 2 kilometers from Vasiliki, about 11 Kilometers from our villa, is small but it is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Agiofili was only known by locals in the past but is now no longer a secret for tourists. Small, beautiful and crystal clear water, it gets very busy in July and August, unless you be there early in the morning. Until recently it was only accessible with a taxi boat from Vasiliki, but now the road from Vasiliki has been extended and you can also reach the beach by car.

GYRA BEACH:

Gyra beach is located just outside of Lefkas town on the northern part of the island. It is a long and narrow beach that is especially popular with the locals. There is enough parking space close to the beach.

MILOS BEACH:

Milos beach is a beautiful sandy beach just south of Agios Nikitas, with clear blue water surrounded by windmills. This is one of our favorite beaches, from the terraces of the beach bar you can watch the kite surfers flying over the water.

AGIOS GIANNIS BEACH:

Agios giannis beach (ai giannis beach) is a beautiful sandy beach with clear turquoise water. The beach is close to Lefkas town and is best known among kite surfers because of the strong wind.

SKALA GIALOU BEACH:

Skala Gialou beach is located in Tsoukalades, about 6 kilometers west of Lefkada city. On this beach you will find white sand, turquoise water surrounded by steep cliffs. The beach is easy to reach from Lefkada and Tsoukaledes, so during summer months it can get quite crowded.

KAMINIA BEACH:

Kaminia beach is a rather special beach since it is one of the few real sandy beaches on Lefkada. This beach is not so well known among tourists, so it is often nice and quiet here.

PEFKOULIA BEACH:

Pefkoulia beach is located on the west coast of Lefkada. The beach is just north of Agios Nikitas. This beach is easily accessible and there is sufficient parking space.

GIALOS BEACH:

Gialos beach, which is located on the westcoast close tot he small village of Athani, is one of the longest beaches on the island. There is enough parking space and a cafe on the beach.

POROS MIKROS GIALOS BEACH:

This beach is located on the east coast of Lefkas near the village of Poros, about 13 kilometers from Villa Lefkas. Poros beach is a beautiful wide pebble beach with calm and clear water. You can rent beds and umbrellas and have a drink in one of the tevernas
